Did you know that the first rubber duck was invented back in the late 19th Century? Made of hard rubber, the original rubber duckie was stiff, solid and made no noise. It was one of a number of rubber toys invented at around the same sort of time, but it proved popular with children, who enjoyed playing with their new friends at bath time. The humble rubber duckie hit the big time in 1970 when it became the subject of a song from Sesame Street.
Our Pre-2008 rubber ducks don’t go quite as far back as the late 1800s, but you can take comfort in the fact that you’ll have access to many more colours and designs than would have been available back then.
